It seems like these extension cables you can buy are all the same diameter, so I was hoping someone could give some numbers on the number of meters of length that is possible. I agree that POE works fine, but it is not always convenient to make holes in walls.

Thank you for your reply. Think I'll take the chance and have it plugged in all winter. I tend to destroy anything I open up to fix, so cleaning the circuit board is a bad idea...

I have cameras in my bird boxes. (The little green ones sold on Aliexpress.) They are not completely waterproof. Does anyone have experience with leaving them plugged in and running during the winter? The cameras I use generate a lot of heat, so I think they stay dry inside?
