I can’t see any problem with it, provided you get enough power from the NVR. An unmanaged switch doesn’t become part of any network as it doesn’t care about IP addressing.
Face recognition has a pretty low success rate in general. The Police claim a very low hit rate. We’ve used it at work with AWS doing the actual work.
