HikVision Firmware updates - backdoor exploit fully disclosed

Thank you for this - Can you clarify something. I have 3 sets of Hikvision cameras "DS-2CD2032-I" (taken from the Model field in config). The current firmware I have is "V5.4.0 build 160530" If I look at their download portal I can't see any more recent firmware that would fix this problem...

Hikivision ds-2cd2032-i with on old firmware version 5.0.0 130830

Yes, there is an order of upgrades and you cannot skip them all. The process to go to 5.4 (the latest) is : V5.2.0->V5.3.0->V5.4.0 "Skipping intermediate versions in upgrading may cause unpredictable problems." So, try going from 5.0 to 5.1 and so on, and then follow the above. I had the...

    Qnap vs Hikvision

Have you tried reducing the size of the 800MB partition and quota? Try 100 or 200MB and see what happens.

    Network viewing issue - Help!

I can't help with the specific problem.. but PLEASE CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD as soon as you do get this set up as that verification code is unique to your camera/equipment and it's in clear text in your picture :-(

    Hikvision IP Camera Security

Well. After some further examination I find that despite turning off EzVIZ in the "platform" section on the camera, it still opens a UPnP port of the same on my router (ports 9010 and 9020). This is irritating and a potential security issue. When I disable EzViz I expect the camera to NOT...

    Hikvision IP Camera Security

Yes. It depends whether you need access to the cameras from the internet or not. If these are just used to record to internal storage and you are not using a viewing app to see the images while away from the location, then you can shutdown UPnP and close ports on the cameras to prevent it...

DS-2CD2132F-I recording to NAS random persistent failure

I just checked my quotas. All at 100GB. On my cams (2CD2032) this gives me many weeks of events. Including all the false ones like spiders webs in the wind and rain :-) Mike

DS-2CD2132F-I recording to NAS random persistent failure

When I did this I created three seperate users and set the quotas the same for each. Mine seem to work fine. Are you using one login name for all three cameras? What quota setting do you have? If its 1 user and about 1TB... Then there's your problem. And what NAS are you using.. is that...

Hikvision camera with this functions ?

Yes - the bullet camera series are ones I use for exactly this purpose. I have the "DS-2CD2032-I 12mm 3MP IR Mini Bullet Camera " - you will also need a POE injector if you don't use a POE switch. It supports SMB and NFS shares for uploading to a NAS. I use a QNAP NAS and SMB shares for...

2 Cameras to a single NAS drive

On mine (I have two DS-2CD2032-I) I have set up two shares on my NAS (a QNAP). Not using NFS. Have TWO SEPARATE USERS though - not using admin or the same user id. It needs this as it uses quotas to work out when to start deleting. If both your cameras are logging in with the same UID it...

2 Cameras to a single NAS drive

This should work fine - I do this myself. The only issue you may have is how it records - SMB (windows shares) or NFS. I have yet to make either work reliably with the cameras partitioning. They always go "offline" after a reboot or after formatting. This happens with recent firmware changes...

How about a tutorial on recording video to a NAS drive from a 2CD2032-1

There are a plathora of similiar messages about this - with the old 5.1.6 release, it was possible to patch the firmware (as there is a bug in it that prevents this working correctly). Anyone on 5.2 .. that patch may brick your Camera... I've tried with my QNAP NAS using SMB (Windows shares)...
