how do you value the potential of mobile surveillance

Android mobile phone, use it as an ip camera, viewable from anywhere, there are many ways to do it. The simplest is using an app called Alfred. The app requires almost no knowledge, no port forwarding, no hosting. I've used it, it works fine...

    Hi from Bristol UK.

Hi Henry. The video is real time, ie i can hear a car going past my house and see it out of my window and that car shows on iSPY with maybe quarter a second lag at most, that's using my android cameras, for me that's realtime enough. The android cameras are set to stream at 14 fps and the...

Need advice for software to stream Axis cameras online.

My recorded videos go into my gdrive folder (it's like dropbox) which then gets sync'd to my gdrive account, so i can then view my videos on my android phone while i'm away from home. To view live video on my phone i use tinycam monitor.

Need advice for software to stream Axis cameras online.

I just looked on iSPY connect which i use on my pc, the Axis M10 camera is listed as a compatible camera so it should be possible to view them either with cameras and pc on the same network or with the pc at a different location. I'm doing exactly that with various ip cameras. On my pc at my...

    Hi from Bristol UK.

I don't have H264 cameras so i can't answer that question. In iSPY there's an "Add IP camera" wizard which takes you through the steps, the last step is to check all valid video streams, you can select one from that. My cameras are all MJPEG, i select the relevant stream. As far as i know iSPY...

    Hi from Bristol UK.

I delete most of my unwanted videos mostly of myself most days, anything i want to keep goes into a seperate "CCTV keeps" folder so i haven't got anywhere near the 15gb limit. I also find that Gdrive encodes the videos quicker than dropbox, so they're ready for viewing quicker. Paul.

    IP Cameras for Home

Bought what equipment ? The best cameras you've probably got lying around are android devices. You can search files quickly with iSPY, all videos recorded are shown as thumbnails at the bottom of the interface, when played through the standard player instead of a webpage, (selectable in the...

    IP Cameras for Home

Apart from having night vision i bet you've got all of the equipment needed for a cctv system lying around your house and you don't even know it. You can build an excellent cctv system for free. If you want to know how just ask me. Paul.

    Network access

I'd put the virgin media superdud into modem only mode, (if you need to know how then just ask), because the wireless performance and range on them is crap, then connect your own router, you'll get much better performance. Asus routers, which i use, come with free DDNS hosting (your choice of...

    Video Motion Detection (VMD)

Yes the software can "learn" apparently. It's also possible to eliminate certain shades/colours and luminosities. Also number plate recognition is available. Also how many objects are in the picture. It's also possible to set for when there is NO motion detection, ie, where a place is meant to...

    choosing CCTV software for home

I also use iSPY connect on my pc. I've done quite a few set ups for other people as well as my own. My cameras consist of Foscam and android cameras, the android cameras are much easier to set up, much cheaper, more stable and reliable and you can get them anywhere. Paul.

    Video Motion Detection (VMD)

To get round this problem you need to have a motion detection program which records not on movement but alert. The alert being movement after x seconds. I use iSPY connect, ive set it to record on alert, the alert being movement for 2 seconds, it also the records the previous 4 seconds. Of...
