Nice, ive just upgraded mine too. First couple of things I picked up (these are direct on the device, not the web ui but the device UI) When in live view, and you have all your cameras in a grid, when you mouse over any of the cameras, a pair of boxes come up over the camera with it's name...

I did quite a bit of testing on this, and found G722.1 to be the best overall quality. The others caused some loss to the higher frequencies. Try for yourself, but for me, it was the better codec EDIT - just did some reading about AAC, in theory is should be a better codec as more bandwidth...

quick update - ive recently installed the latest Mac OS 14 Sonoma, and now this app seems totally broken :( it will occasionally open ok, but clicking a video file just causes the app to quit

yes vca won't show - you can turn those off on vsplayer by right clicking on the playing video, in the menu options select Image Control > VCA Overlay Info, and then select Close All

using vsplayer on the PC you have managed to see it? the green boxes are the VCA

the test file im using takes about 40 seconds to eventually display something in vlc

its worth a try, what happens with VLC - I just tried one of my files, and it take a good while to display something, but it eventually does - im using 3.0.18

I know, I did send the raw file to the police, and they did manage to open it in what ever they have, but the audio didn't work and that was key for me, if you just need the video footage, maybe you can just send what you have?

don't see why not, I have a NAS with a Windows Virtual Machine on it, and I did the convert in there. When you do the convert, make sure you edit the audio settings. I converted mine to MP4, but the audio was compressed and not really audible, set this to the highest setting so you preserve...

ive recently used the VS Player to convert a Hikvision file into a standard MP4 to pass to the police - the Mac version doesn't have this feature though, im fortunate to have a windows virtual machine I can do this on, and it worked, and the police could play the file back no problem how are...

thanks :) I was using vsplayer on the Mac, and the convert option isn't there, but opening it up on windows, and there it is :) I've successfully managed to convert, needed to be careful with the conversion type as the audio gets compressed too much and becomes poor qualify.

Wife has a number of video files saved on her iPhone which she's recorded using IVMS4500 over the years - getting a new phone and forced to use hik-connect now (she doesn't like change!!!) Ive managed to get the files off the phone and onto a NAS for safe storage, and was trying to convert...
