Multiple disk, splitting cameras across them in groups?

Thanks. My disk turned up today and is faulty, grrr, so when that gets replaced I may spend some time increasing quality and bit rates. I’ve found that using iVMS4200 to do a still capture of the images useful, as it captures at full resolution of the camera, but not sure how good that would be...

Multiple disk, splitting cameras across them in groups?

I was obsessing about the Hikvision bit rate calculator. This system I have all cams running 12fps (26 of them) with 4TB, and 2 x 3TB Purples so 10TB in total, I stuck to recommended bit rates as such, an 8pm ColorVu I have set at 12 fps, variable, and max bit rate of 4096, which is what the...

Multiple disk, splitting cameras across them in groups?

Thanks, seems it should be more than enough - definitely a great idea there to move a camera to its own disk to rule that out! I'll stick to one group with all the disks in.

Multiple disk, splitting cameras across them in groups?

Been doing some reading and some people suggest that if you have multiple disks in your NVR and a larger number of cameras, you would be better off setting up one disk per group, and then assigning the cameras to these groups manually. Anyone any thoughts on this? The WD Purples seem to suggest...

Full screen dwell time is much less than the 10 seconds its set too?

ah no worries, the Hikvision vision menus are a nightmare at the best of times! I have a feeling the issue of dwell times may be related to IP cameras. Im 90% sure that I had a TVI connected to the old Hybrid DVR and that did full screen for 10 seconds no problem, and I think when I swapped it...

Full screen dwell time is much less than the 10 seconds its set too?

Thanks, thats confused me then On the live settings screen, there seems to be 2 dwell settings, one for the dwell time, I understood this as the timing between switching screens (cam1 > cam2 etc) and then a full screen dwell time which I understood to be how long the full screen notifier stays...

How to add analogue channels from a DVR to an NVR (use DVR as an encoder)

I had an existing DVR with a number of TVI and IP Cams attached. it was a 7316HUHI-K4. Have been migrating away from TVI cameras to IP for a while, but got to a point where the DVR was struggling when I added any more IP cameras. So my situation was, I had a number of TVI cameras to replace...

Full screen dwell time is much less than the 10 seconds its set too?

Does anyone use full screen dwell at all? On an M Series NVR, I set one of the cams to run full screen upon intrusion detection, and it does this, but only for a couple of seconds, not the 10 seconds it suggest!?

Blurry, interference-type image. Are these cameras on the way out?

can you get onto the web interface of the box? Looks like TVI cameras to me. Any reference details from an invoice or anything when you had it installed?

New M Series NVR Setup - Unable to display 8MP in Web UI Live View?

After I cleared down Safari's cache - it seems to be ok displaying that cam in the Web Ui. Web ui a bit clunky, so maybe not a good replacement for having a hard screen wired to the NVR

New M Series NVR Setup - Unable to display 8MP in Web UI Live View?

Even cooler, is that if I bring up the PTZ controls on the NVR while viewing an encoded DVR channel, I can go into the cameras menu options just like I was sitting at the DVR, I was thinking the integration would be poor, but its really quite good - definitely worth a thought for someone with a...

New M Series NVR Setup - Unable to display 8MP in Web UI Live View?

Thanks, I'll give the Hik Connect a go then as I quite like the look of it. Yep understand what your saying, maybe I didn't explain to well. What I was trying to say is, with the new NVR, I am adding in TVI channels from a DVR that was existing. Im not working with any IP cameras at the...

New M Series NVR Setup - Unable to display 8MP in Web UI Live View?

Thanks, for some reason, Safari seems worse than Chrome, but that may be because my old DVR has the same IP as the new NVR, so all the cache maybe a bit messed up - I cleared all the safari history and will try again with using that. I re ip'd the DVR as I wont need to connect to it remotely, so...

New M Series NVR Setup - Unable to display 8MP in Web UI Live View?

Quick update - I was trying to be to clever for my own good with this particular bit... If I reduce the main stream of the device to 1920*1080, then it will display in the live view on the web ui (interestingly. if I do that, and then on the NVR connected to the monitor, I press the info button...

New M Series NVR Setup - Unable to display 8MP in Web UI Live View?

Setting up a brand new M Series NVR. Only hooked up one camera to it so far, which is a DS-2CD2387G2-LSU/SL 8MP. If I set the resolution to 3840*2160 in the GUI or by web browser, I can see the cam no problem via the NVR directly connected by HDMI to monitor, but using the web UI live view, it...

Standard or passthrough RJ45s, crimpers etc - whats your preference?

Thanks for the reply, I’ve read conflicting things about the pass through easy plugs, with people saying that because the ends of the rj45 are open, it’s more prone to failure, air getting in and affecting the copper or something like that. The concept is good though and looks less fiddly. be...

Turret cams with included base - connecting conduit?

Ah thats a good one, will look a lot neater that way, could get obsessive and file the edge of the conduit to fit around the curve of the base too. Once the base is mounted and there is just a 6mm hole in it, I can pull the cable through and seal up from the inside too.

    Cameras on same subnet?

No worries. Just one other thing I read… The NVR PoE-connected cameras must have the NVR PoE interface IP address set as their default gateway. Usually 192.168.254.1 This is so the camera has a route out through the NVR to the LAN, it has to be in the same address range as the camera IP...

    Cameras on same subnet?

Ah ok - ive not used an NVR with integrated poe ports before, im a bit old school, so I have cameras connected to POE switches in their own vlan. From a networking perspective, how would your cameras in one subnet be able to get to the other? The cameras must have a default gateway in the...
