Thanks @collectors Unfortunately, those product pages are not all that helpful as they don't have full specs stating the power usage of these camera models (this is very common with cheap cameras) but from the looks of them I wouldn't expect either of them to use more than standard PoE (15.4W)...

Hi @StefanoB I would recommend that you update the NVR to the latest/last firmware version - V3.0.22_170621 - and then try adding the camera again using the method I described.

Okay, Don't worry about hard resetting, the issue is likely to do with the age of the NVR compared to the new camera. The newer Hikvision camera models require a strong password for them to be activated via Plug & Play and it is likely that your older NVR model doesn't have this configured...

Thanks @StefanoB The PoE ports on the NVR use a different subnet IP range from your LAN IP range, so if you first set up your camera on the LAN, it won't be reachable if you then move it to the PoE ports. You will need to hard reset the camera to inactive and then plug it into the NVR PoE...

Hi @mumin It looks like you are looking at decoding which only applies to how many cameras you can simultaneously live view. To record 4 x 8MP cameras at max. resolution/settings, we would recommend the DS-7608NI-M2/8P which also supports a decoding capability of 8-ch@8 MP(25 fps).
