MacOS Still no support for modern browsers from Hikvision?

Hikvision's support for Mac Os is shocking; but there aren't many browser options under Windows either, ie Internet Explorer which is clunky and ugly. Best choice of a bad bunch is to run Windows in emulation via Parallels Desktop. Given that Apple has just announced that it is migrating its...

Permanent video feed near front door

You can get a direct rtsp feed from the camera to any IP device which can run VLC. You would have to find a way to keep the device powered on/charged up though.

    Upgrade / Maintenance Advice Needed

If the cameras aren't too far away, you could run a temporary ethernet cable from each one in turn to a POE switch and then directly into your LAN/PC. If that's ok, run it into your NVR and test again. I keep a spare 100m cable for such tests. Alternatively, you could temporarily lash up a...

Can you recommend non Hikvision cameras to connect to my Hikvision NVR?

You may be out of luck. The ONVIF "S" rating is the one which gives you motion capture and only one Reolink camera (RLC-410WS) has it, according to the ONVIF website. ONVIF 2.1 support, which Reolink claim, may give you a live feed but it's unlikely to afford full functionality.

    Help with choosing wireless systems

You'll have trouble finding a wires-free battery operated camera which works with an NVR. You might have to settle for cameras with SD card slots from a company such as Reolink which includes a good free software VMS. But I wouldn't recommend wi-fi for mission critical security applications...

    Hik-Connect Hikconnect on TV

If your TV supports it, you can also view your live feed in a picture-in-picture window in the corner of your screen which detracts somewhat from Ant & Dec but saves you from switching AV channels.

Motion event setup hit-and-miss with wrong format preview images

I think I have the same problem in both MacOs and Windows: the preview images when setting up motion events or smart events aren't in the same 16:9 format as the camera feed. So how do you set up zones accurately when the preview image is squashed horizontally?

FAQ How many Hik-Connect accounts am I able to connect to my Hikvision IP Video Intercom Door Station?

Thank you, Kyle. Are there any advantages to feeding the indoor station from the mainstream or sub stream given that both will be 720p or less?

Recording door entry system on NVR, and also adding extra door entry screen in house

FWIW, on my Mac, neither SADP Tool nor iVMS-4200 sees the IP of the main door station. However, if you have a working indoor station, you can find it in the settings. Other platforms may actually work.

    MacOS HikVision on a Mac

@DataDave, I haven't found a way to do that natively but can recommend the Parallels Desktop solution mention by Dan. You can also view RTSP live streams via VLC in MacOs, locally and remotely.

    Small IP Outdoor Camera.

I'm obviously not visualising your bird box correctly if the colour of the camera makes a difference to anyone except a bird. I haven't any experience of current Hikvision bullets but you'll need to make sure that you choose the right lens for your required FOV. It's pretty small but even at 6in...

    Small IP Outdoor Camera.

When you said you were hoping to mount the camera in a way which would not attract attention, I assumed you were not planning to stick a CCTV warning sign next to it - which I gather is compulsory if filming outside your property (as is the correct management of any potentially private footage)...

    Small IP Outdoor Camera.

If it's going inside a box, you could look at the smaller indoor-rated cameras as they should get sufficient protection from the elements. I squeezed an indoor-rated DS-2DE2204IW-DE3 PTZ camera inside a garden lantern and it's very happy out there. Make sure you're not breaking any laws...

Hikvision DS-KH6230-WTE1 indoor screen unable to get additional cameras working

I've only now looked at the images attached to your OP and noted your device channel number. All my added cameras are assigned to channel 1. If that doesn't work, I'm out of ideas. PS. All my added cameras are also on port 554 (even though I have forwarded their port numbers for another reason)...

Hikvision DS-KH6230-WTE1 indoor screen unable to get additional cameras working

Have you enabled DHCP on the 6230? If you do that it should mine the IP addresses of all your Hik cameras automatically, without changing the default port number. Once it has got the IPs you can turn DHCP off again. Otherwise, if your camera IPs are showing in SADP Tool, you should be able to...
