    Firmware M Series 5.04.020_241106 Released - Issues/Avoid

Something new or another security vulnerability ?? Hopefully not the later. But I noticed my NVR @ v5.04.020 is now listening for a connection on 10 new ports: 6111, 6113, 10010 --> 10017 As best I can tell, these are undocumented for the NVR..... although it seems HikCentral might use these...

    Firmware M Series 5.04.020_241106 Released - Issues/Avoid

FYI.... this version, Firmware__V5.04.020_241106 is now generally available at all major portals (well at least the 4 portals that I checked) Also, FWIW, my Win laptop reports the "dav" file is identical, byte for byte, to the "dav" file that JB1970 made available earlier. Thx for that JB...

Setting up a fresh system for the first time - what are the best first steps to take?

VLANs are great, but they do bring a new level of complexity that one has to deal with. I use them in my setup, but that's me. Just a couple of considerations should you want the extra security that VLANs offer: does your 24 port switch even support VLANs ? do you need/have a router that is...

SADP v3.1.3.2 incorrectly reports an invalid MAC address on the 2nd Ethernet interface

For added verification, this is the actual ARP Table (partially redacted) from a G5 Camera on LAN 2: ========arp========== IP address.......HW type.....Flags.......HW address............Mask.....Device 10.10.10.254.....0x1.........0x2.........24:01:c7:22:3b:c6.....*........eth0...

SADP v3.1.3.2 incorrectly reports an invalid MAC address on the 2nd Ethernet interface

HIK Developers..... heads up, if you're still following this forum: SADP v3.1.3.2 incorrectly reports an invalid MAC address on the 2nd Ethernet interface. For example, on a DS-7616-M2 @ v5.03.020..... SADP reports: on LAN 1, SADP reports MAC address --> xx:xx:xx:xx:5A:4A (this is correct)...

Setting up a fresh system for the first time - what are the best first steps to take?

Best first steps ??? FWIW, in my world, the 1st step is to: understand your goals & budget come up with (aka create) a network design that supports those goals / budget, & document your network To some degree, the equipment you have might dictate your goals, & thus the network design.... or...

    Firmware M-Series Firmware v5.03 Released

FWIW, back in June 2024, I complained about the Playback "Event Markers" being off by an hour. Now that I am off Daylight Savings Time & back on Standard Time, the new Event Markers are no longer off by that 1 hour (aka DST Bias). Just a heads up to HIK Development..... you still need to fix...

Storage HDD error message - "For the memory card or HDD that is abnormal or unformatted, please insert again, change a card, or format the card"?

From where I sit, it's more an "informational" message vs error message. AFAIK, the HIK webUI developers are just blindly putting a static message on the screen. My DS-7616NI-M2 @ V5.03.020 build 240904 has the same screen. My disk drives are fine. No doubt yours are too. Carry on.

    Replace iVMS4200 with Security Spy?

Understood. From the earlier posts, it sounded like the SADP issue might ONLY be on the Wireless side of your network, and NOT on the wired side of your home network. Which prompted my suggestion. So much for my wild guess. :) A PC with the Wireshark tool, inserted into your network, might...

    Replace iVMS4200 with Security Spy?

Just a wild guess, that might apply..... SADP uses Multicast packets many home routers, like Linksys, by default, block Multicast packets on the Wireless side of your home network this "might" apply in your case (or not)...... so look for a Filter or Block Multicast setting in your router's...

Firmware Updated Panoramic Firmware DS-2CD2387G2P-LSU/SL - V5.7.11 build 240903 now on the street

Updated Panoramic Firmware DS-2CD2387G2P-LSU/SL - V5.7.11 build 240903 now on the street FYI, I noticed this update today V5.7.11 build 240319 was the previous release in typical HIK fashion, they kept the version @ v5.7.11. WHY is unknown to me. and, as usual, there are NO release notes (yet)...

Firmware Finding the latest firmware for my Hikvision cameras?

Just a wild guess...... what are the chances your USB stick is formatted as NTFS or exFat ? If so, you might have better luck re-formatting it to FAT16 (or FAT32).

Do Hikvision NVRs have a fixed IP address?

If you're paying attention, the video has 2 isolated networks..... Network A and Network B. And then you see the guy move the 1 camera from Network B to Network A. (there is NO inter-connection between Network A and Network B). That NVR has 2 NICs (just like your new NVR)... 1 NIC on Network...

Do Hikvision NVRs have a fixed IP address?

Virtual Host, enabled on the NVR, provides a "relay" for your Browser from Network A to Network B and back..... in order to give one direct access to the camera(s). This permits such things as camera configuration changes without physically being on Network B. If the NVR is at 192.168.2.100 on...

Do Hikvision NVRs have a fixed IP address?

with the DS-7604NXI-K1/4P now in the mix, you're now implementing 2 unique networks. Each network must have a unique IP address range. the LAN port on the NVR is connected (most likely) to your traditional, primary home LAN. Network A. the 4 x NVR POE ports + the internal NIC on the NVR...

Firmware Cannot update a UK M-Series NVR from 4.63.020? [SOLVED]

Kudos to you for working the problem. FWIW, I'll offer you a theory. Typically, computer firmware upgrades have very little tolerance for "delays" in packet arrival. In your situation, I suspect: the VPN <<---->> VPN connection is adding a slight delay to packet arrival..... aka just...

Do Hikvision NVRs have a fixed IP address?

In my earlier post I was referring only to the LAN port..... which is the only port that is designed to be on a traditional home LAN & thus accessible to the outside world. The internal NIC on the internal switch is not intended to be reachable by or installed on the customer's traditional home...

Firmware Cannot update a UK M-Series NVR from 4.63.020? [SOLVED]

I too have the B-R-K21B1-00 h/w (DS-7616NI-M2) and have had no issues doing any of those upgrades. Off the top of my head....... are you using a bonafide ZIP program to unzip the file ? aka..... is it possible you have an off-brand zip program & is that the underlying culprit ?

Do Hikvision NVRs have a fixed IP address?

Depends how you set the IP in the NVR. Generally, you want to set the IP as a fixed address using: static IP, or DHCP, but use DHCP Reservations in your DHCP Server so it's always assigned the same IP address Then you can block that IP in your router. And if you want to go the extra mile, you...
