This app has been total junk for quite a while and Hik has no desire to fix it - or any of the NVR firmware either.

Same here. Live view is perfect, but viewing events either times out or network busy.

The above solution is no longer working. Has anyone upgraded to Windows 11 and, using Edge, been able to get live view on the web interface?

Just upgraded to Windows 11. Now when I go to the Hikvision web interface for my NVR, I get no video feeds from my NVR. It doesn't work in IE, Edge, or Chrome. I've cleared cache in all three browsers with no success. I've noticed a problem we had years ago, where it constantly prompts me to...

No idea man. It's always worked for me when I rename them directly on the NVR.

Make sure you rename them on the monitor interface of the NVR - not on the web interface. Every time I've added or changed new cameras, renaming through the web interface does not work. I have to make the changes on the NVR monitor for it to work.

I hear Blue Iris is the way to go. I do not use it personally. The other major security cam website has extensive documentation and threads on the subject. Good luck.

You really ought to try Internet Explorer - the old one, not Edge.

Why is anybody still using the 4500 app? It was discontinued over a year ago and is no longer supported.

Take some time to review them and you'll see they are all the how-to's and tutorials that new members need. Remove those and the forum will be filled with "how do I do this" threads. Probably more awkward.

Is the glare from the IR's hitting nearby objects?

There is a notification setting specifically for that. Use that dropdown box to configure all the ones you want.
