    What camera - upgrade

Ugh PoC (Power over Coax) is a shame as it limits your choice somewhat. Your existing DS-2CE56H0T-IT3ZE is a 5 megapixel 2.7 to 13.5 varifocal PoC model. If you had a means to get a 12V DC supply local to the camera I'd recommend the DS-2CE79H8T-AIT3ZF as that's the equivalent ultra low light...

    M Series Firmware - 5.04.050_250124 Released

You shouldn't need RTSP protocol. Mine didn't show online at all. I went to Device Access and added it manually with just the IP address and admin password.

Door Entry New Firmware - Outdoor Station DS-KV6113-WPE1(C)

    It's on the UK portal - here: 6113 - 2.2.77

    IR remote

They stopped supplying IR remotes years ago. The remotes they used to supply were hopeless and nigh on impossible to use as they were intended for another device and the keys didn't match up (I used to just throw them in the bin rather than supply them with the NVR/DVR). Save yourself the...

    Hikvision DS-7204HUHI-K1 disk exception

The disk size is based on the number of cameras, encoding, frame rate and how long you want recordings before they're overwritten. If you're happy with how long you were retaining the images for prior to the drive failure just stick with 4TB. Your DVR is a 4 channel model and is restricted to...

    Hikvision DS-7204HUHI-K1 disk exception

I’d recommend Seagate Skyhawk Surveillance or Western Digital Purple as they’re intended for 24/7 recording. There’s no knowing what you have in currently is compatible but as soon as you have the kid off you can see what brand and model it is.

    Hikvision DS-7204HUHI-K1 disk exception

Yes it needs replacing. Power down, switch it out and once powered up format the new one from that page.

    DS-2CD2787G2H-LIPTRZS2U/SL/B - new PTRZ's

They're not really intended to be used as PTZs as such; the function is more a tool for setup enabling the cameras to be adjusted without opening it or occasional repositioning. If you have a mooch on the the DVS website and click on Support > How to Videos, Dave did a video review not too long...

    Door Entry DS-KV6113-WPE1(C) port change

It's not clear what you're using. The address bar shows https so it shouldn't be using 80 or 81 You can connect to the video using nothing other than the RTSP port.

    Upgrading HIKVision NVR

Generally Seagate Surveillance/Skyhawk are fine, Western Digital Purple are fine, Toshiba S300 Surveillance are fine. I say 'generally' because there are some exceptions: - Toshiba S300 Surveillance - I found that these failed when using two in one machine. I was back and forth to a job and...

Door Entry Delayed ringing between the doorbell and the Hik-connect app

I no longer have an indoor station connected but I recall both the indoor station and Hik-Connect on the phone got the call at the same time. There will likely be some setting in the DS-KH9510 that needs to be altered.

How to manage the NVR & Download Images on a Silicon Mac

You should be able to use Windows 11 in a VM. I have a MacBook M1 running Apple Silicon and have Windows 11 ARM running via Parallels. I've just tried on mine and can use Microsoft Edge to playback, search and download a specified video clip from a camera. Edit: I've just repeated the above...

    Upgrading HIKVision NVR

You could well be the first user to ever try that! :-) I would check that the specific SSD is on the Hikvision compatible list (and cancel it if not)... It's a known issue that some disks are incompatible as they cannot write VCA data from the camera. That can stop Smart search from working...

    M Series Firmware - 5.04.050_250124 Released

I do wish I had a spare to mess with. It’s guaranteed that if I downgrade mine and spend time setting it up again, another update will come along that I’ll want to try out. I just miss the ease of use of those old versions. When NVRs and DVRs first started migrating from V3 to V4 GUI, I...

    M Series Firmware - 5.04.050_250124 Released

Probably as good as it's going to get. The inability to add door stations to the NVR was a big issue for some users and now at least you can get the video streamed and recorded via the NVR (even if you cannot configure intercom alarms as you could in V4). The other things mentioned (such as...

    Upgrading HIKVision NVR

This is expected and not a permanent issue. The NVR is still trying to connect to the updated camera with '12345' (even if the new password matches the NVR) as it was originally connected using plug and play. You need to edit the channel of the NVR from 'Plug and Play' to 'Manual' enter the...

    Upgrading HIKVision NVR

No. I've not come across a suitable device that can act as both a bridge and PoE injector. Your other alternative is to use a Powerline adaptor in an outlet close to the camera, though they can sometimes play up down the line depending on what's on the mains circuit.

    M Series Firmware - 5.04.050_250124 Released

Lol - yeah it was. It wasn't you who mentioned Unifi was it? The answer (if it were intended for me) was wrong as he indicated that Smart Search was available on M series when in fact it's not possible to search for non human/vehicle events using Smart or VCA search. I'm sure @alfaclvi would...

    No cameras after NVR reset

So your secure password is probably 'W411y123'! As said, the password for the cameras is likely your previous NVR admin password. If you just make sure you use that again on your NVR (assuming you know it) the cameras will reconnect. If not you could try password guessing on a camera...

    Upgrading HIKVision NVR

Unless the firmware has been updated it is likely/possible that the 'admin' username for your cameras is still '12345'. In order to connect them to a newer NVR it would be advisable to update the firmware on them to the newest version available. This is done in stages (depending on their...
