Choppy live playback from my 8MP Hikvision turret cameras?

I have a Hikvision DS-7604NI-K1 / 4P with a couple of cameras. I have a new DS-2CD2387G2-LSU/SL camera which is really choppy. Ive tried to change some settings but seem to have made it worse.

Any ideas or do i just need a new NVR? If so can you point me in the right direction please?

Is the footage choppy when you view the NVR directly / from a PC, or in Hik-Connect?

Are your other cameras also DS-2CD2387G2-LSU/SL turrets please, and what are the video settings you are currently using for each?

You may be exceeding the incoming bitrate budget of your NVR, as this is 40Mbps, but the 8MP Acusense can use around 15Mbps each (at their maximum video settings).

Thanks for the response.

No my other cameras are only 4mp, not the best. I have tried to turn some settings down and slightly improved now but thinking I could be as you say running out bitrate

The choppy footage occurs on both live and recorded no matter what I’m watching on whether that be the app or directly on the NVR

You may be OK with those cameras - I'd try adjusting the following settings first:

Bitrate Type - change to "Variable"
(See if this resolves things before adjusting the below)

Video quality - try "Higher" or "Medium"
Frame Rate - try reducing this gradually
Max Bitrate - drop to 6144 Kbps
H.265+ - "OFF"

Also, what firmware is your NVR currently using?

Brilliant news, thanks although I don’t think my NVR quite supports the full features of my main camera?
The firmware I am on is V3.4.98 build 171121
Have tried to upgrade to V3.4.103 but wouldn’t work. Shame that it’s not compatible with the latest V4 firmware
