Hi Guys,

My dvr started beeping today, i checked online and it appeared my second drive had an error on it, looks like its failed. So I have disconnected all the cables and left it inside until i get a replacement.

However the dvr is still bleeping three times randomly. I have reformatted the one working drive again.

The second drive is showing as non exist on the interface which is correct I believe, so why would it still carry on beeping?

In the app the second drive is showing as HDD exception - i guess that means its not there!

Any idea why it would still beep?

Thks

You need to delete the drive in the menu rather than just disconnect it which you can do that from the local menu. When you've done that you should only see an entry for the working drive.

No that's incorrect. The interface sees it as missing but is unaware that you've purposely disconnected it so sees that as an error and gives the beeps.

When you get a new drive and connect it, it will appear in the list again as an uninitialised drive until you initialise/format it.

How do i delete the drive from the menu please? I’ve checked, no option or maybe i don’t know how to?

Thks

I can't remember. On mine I can 'unload' the drive and then possibly there's a delete option once that's done (I'm not going to do that on a working system for obvious reasons). The drive may need to be installed for that option to appear (needed it to delete it prior to unplugging it faulty or not)

Thank, i will have a look at the monitor settings directly from the dvr, there is certainly nothing like that on the interface , i have checked everything

Yes whatever it is, it is only on the local interface; you can’t do it from a web browser. I think I had something similar on an NVR and I had to physically reconnect a drive in order to unload then delete then physically remove it.
