Hi Dan,

I own a Hikvision DS-2CD2442FWD-IW camera and unfortunately I forgot the web login password. I already tried all the standard reset procedures but the device does not return to factory settings. Hikvision support refused to help because I bought it abroad while traveling. Could you please advise if there is any other way to reset it or regain access?

FIRMWARE Hi Guys! iDS-7716NXI-I4/X(C) VCA engine dead — wrong firmware V4.62.225 (/S variant) installed. Correct firmware V4.62.210_230619 needed but every copy including from Hikvision UK is 432MB and gets rejected at 4% during flash. Should be 490-510MB. Serial: 1620230621CCRRAC8128260WCVU. Anyone got the correct file? Cheers @codlord

No worries thanks for confirming. I've now looking for ways of forcefully overwriting the current firmware with the correct one on the NVR.

I have worked with 2 models so far.

iDS-2CD7A26G0/P-IZHS which is H8 new platform ANPR camera

And the model iDS-TCM403-BI

Both have the AlarmServer working normally. I use HTTPContext in my .netcore as a service to catch POST events that camera sends and i respond with 200OK.


For the ISAPI request to fetch events with polling, i have only worked with the series 7 iDS-2CD7A26G0/P-IZHS not the 403 one.

Hi Mark,

As requested a direct message about the Dahua app on android. My phone is a Pixel 5 running the /e/os 3.2 Android 13 operating system. I have always used /e/os without any issues so don't think it's related to that but /e/os is a bit more "de-googled" .

I was going to link you in contact with a rep from Dahua who's aware of some Google Pixel phones having issues with DMSS. There's been very few reported and unsure at this stage what the cause is.

Thanks. I just searched and found a couple of posts of similar issues. I found an old one from 2016 which mentioned changing stream to "special stream" or something. Well my app only offers Sub Stream or Main Stream so I changed the playback stream to sub-stream and that actually works fine!

So at least I can do playback on the app now but only viewing sub-stream.

Hi Dan,

I'm a little out of touch with CCTV, and have a really old 6 x camera 4mp POE Swann system that I need to update.
I'm not wedded to any particular camera style, but need something modern with good day & nigh vision, high fps etc.
Would be kind enough to recommend a good residential Hikvision setup / bundle that would meet my needs?

Hi! I have a Hikvision DS-2CD1343G2-IUF (G2 platform) on firmware V5.8.10. I need to enable RTMP push to stream directly to my VPS/YouTube. I’ve seen mentions of a “Support RTMP” or “TMP-push” firmware (IPC_G2_EN_STD_5.5.131_210120_RTSP_RTMP.zip) but can’t find it for my model. Can you confirm if it exists or how I can upgrade safely?

The camera you have is a G2 model, but specifically it is a 1-series G2 camera (1xx3G2) and uses firmware from the E10 Firmware family.

As far as we are aware, there's no RTMP firmware for the 1-series G2 cameras.

The RTMP firmware you mention is for the 2-series G2 cameras (2xx6G2), which use the G3 Firmware family.

Hi, i bought https://uinview.com/ds-2cd1343g2-liuf-p01269p1 .html camera. Which is rebranded DS-2CD1353G2-LIU(F). It arrived and it was original hikvision. My problem now is the hikvision model i just typed seem to not exist. When i search for it only 6mp and 8mp versions appear in google. Can you help me a bit here, is it hikvision camera or not? Where can i find the product page for this camera?

It looks like a genuine Hikvision model number, but from a bit of Googling it looks like this model has been primarily designed for the OEM/Rebadged market.

This is where Hikvision manufactures the cameras for 3rd-party resellers like the one you've linked above or this FactoryDirect brand on Alibaba.

You won't find this model on any Hikvision website and it also likely won't use any existing Hikvision firmware.

This is one of the reasons we always tell customers to purchase their Hikvision products from an authorised Hikvision reseller/installer like us.

No, you must be the first to notice it as I wasn't aware it was out. I check for updates nearly every day and the one time I'm busy and don't there's an update! I'll load it on mine a little later.

Good morning and sorry to bother you, I'm having a similar problem to yours with a dspha64 lp(b) central unit updated to firmware 1.1.1.1, I can no longer log in as a local administrator, I can only log in as an installer from the cloud by associating the device from hik partner pro, can I ask you how you solved it?

I have the non-b version. When I associate device with cloud/hik-connect then I'm also unable to login locally, I think its the way its designed. Unlinking the device from cloud allows me to login again locally.
