ANPR Software Help with Derwent ANPR Cameras

Hi. I am in Security and we have bought 2 Derwent ANPR Cameras but no software. We bought a Hikvision DVR that was supposed to do ANPR but we cant see it.

What i need to know is should i connect the cameras to a laptop (somehow) or buy a DVR with the right software in it. We need to monitor Vehicles coming and going also we need to be alerted of certain vehicles. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi @Devman

We do not recognise the Derwent brand but it is often the case that ANPR software is manufacturer specific and so if the ANPR software is not accessible from the cameras own settings then you will have to purchase/download the Derwent ANPR software to have control of these functions. Some Hikvision NVRs do support ANPR functions but only for Hikvision ANPR cameras.

AAaaaah. I checked Derwent went bust in 2016 Ive attached the Model and specs of the camera if you could take a look please. I dont know if the software is on the camera or if i do have to get a NVR. Although the connectors on these cameras are bnc. @Dan

Hi @Devman

We only work with IP Network cameras & NVR so we don't have any analog DVRs we can recommend you.

Both those documents have Bosch logos on them, I don't see any mention of Derwent but maybe if they were an offshoot brand of Bosch you could contact Bosch directly and ask for their advice.

would it just be easier to go with an ip network. Only thing is that the system has to be mobile

Some IP brands do offer mobile solutions but as far as we are aware there are no mobile IP ANPR solutions which we could recommend.

ok thanks @Dan we are scrapping the analogue cameras. So I spoke to hikvision and they say to look at a camera DS-2CD7A26G0-P
They say that it comes with alot of cool Analytics like Black list, white list, vehicle colour, Vehicle Type and so on. and that i just connect it to my current hikvision dvr. How much do you sell this camera for?

Sorry @Dan i have another question, Do I download the anpr software from the Hikvision Site to update the Dvr that we have.

The DVR we have is a DS-7208HQHI-K1

Also we currently have a CCTV vehicle thats kitted out with Normal Static Cameras and a PTZ so powering anything with normal UK plugs isn't a problem. I've attached a couple of pics of the Vehicle unit
