Hi guys

Just joined

I am looking for the correct latest firmware for my

DS-7208HUHI-K2/P
UK version. I had this installed 8 years ago and haven’t updated it yet, would appreciate the link for the correct version.

Also can i upgrade using interface or does it has to be via usb?

Also once upgraded, will i need to run the wizard again to setup?

Thanks in advance

Thank you, which upgrade is more reliable, interface or usb? Also will i have to adjust the settings again or will they be saved already. I am worried not knowing how to set up everything back up.

The firmware can be updated either with a USB stick plugged into the DVR and accessed with a direct monitor or by using a web browser to log in to the DVR.

See p143 of the user manual for instructions on both methods.

Many thanks, hopefully all will be fine

One last question, my dvr started beeping, i have two 4tb hard drives and drive 2 is showing error, so looks like my drive has gone and needs replacing. How would I know which is drive no2 when i come to replacing it.

And what is the max drive size can I have ?

Many thanks

When you open the DVR case and look at the HDD SATA ports on the DVR motherboard, they should have some form of numbering, with 1 being HDD1 and 2 being HDD2.

To double-check, you can remove one of the HDDs, power the DVR back on, and check the storage menus to make sure you have removed the correct HDD.

Thanks Dan, i just joined today and wanted to say seriously Dan you’re the man!

Such a helpful guy, thanks

When i use the interface, tried crome and firefox , both install plugin but i cant still see the screens

The issue is when i click on browse to launch file nothing happens?

It's to do with the age of your firmware.

The V3 firmware likely won't support modern browsers like Chrome & Firefox, You will need to do at least the first update using either a USB stick & direct monitor or by downloading HiTools Delivery which allows you to update firmware from the desktop tool.

Ah thanks, il use usb, is this why i cant view the live image and keep on getting download plugin which doesnt do anything

Correct, many years ago the most popular modern browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari) stopped using the old plug-in that Hikvision and many other CCTV brands used.

After a couple of years, most Hikvision models (excluding some very old models) had received new firmware updates that support some form of 'plug-in free' solution to be able to access the devices with modern browsers.

Okay

Just on my third and final update.

So will any browsers work to view the video after the upgrade ? Ifso which one?

Looks like hikvision don’t update firemware often, the last was in 2022. I guess there are no further updates for this in future?

Thks

I don't know for sure what the browser compatibility will be for this model, as we don't sell or work with analog DVRs like the DS-7208HUHI-K2/P.

From experience with IP NVRs, I think most browser functionality should be available when accessing with modern browsers like Chrome/Firefox if you are running a V4 firmware.

The DVR model you have is marked as obsolete/EOL, so the latest firmware version I have linked you to is very likely to be the last firmware update for this model.

All sorted thanks.

I have established which drive is faulty so i have disconnected all the cables and left it inside until i get a replacement.

However the dvr is still bleeping three times ramdonly. I have reformatted the one working drive again. The second drive is showing as non exist on the interface which is correct I believe, so why would it still carry on beeping?

In the app the second drive is showing as HDD exception.

Any idea why it would still beep?

Thanks
