Hi there,

I have looked through the similar threads but cant find a solution, so i'm hoping someone may be able to help.

My DVR started to beep every couple of minutes this afternoon, when I checked the app it showed a red error message - Disk Exception - and upon googling it there are various methods to resolve this but it involves either using a monitor to connect to the DVR or via a web browser. Unfortunately, I don't own a monitor other than an iMac screen / laptop and my neighbour no longer has theirs which I had previously used some years ago to access the camera settings.

I have been able to obtain the DVRs IP Address via the SADP Tool, but I don't have any log in details to access via the web browser, nor was I ever given any. When the cameras were installed some 6 years ago, the installer told me I could manage the cameras through the app or via a monitor plugged into the DVR but that ultimately I could do all I needed through the app.

The number I had for the installer is now defunct and so i'm at a loss as to how I can resolve it. Ideally i'd like to be able to log in via the browser ( as no one i know has a monitor I can use!) and had hoped it may be a generic log in such as U: admin P:12345 but I have tried this and as expected it didn't work!!

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

You'll need to replace the disk, it's unlikely to be recoverable.

Unfortunately it doesn't matter whether you use a locally connected monitor or a web browser; without the admin password you won't be able to initialise (format) the new disk. Any Hikvision installer would be able to attend and do a password reset for you at a charge but Hikvision support are unlikely to assist an end user.
