Hik-Connect New Hik-Connect 6.10.x - Not an improvement

I updated Hik-Connect the other day from 6.9.880 to 6.10.0. It seems a step backwards as things have been moved around and changed.

6.9.880 - Clicking 'Me' you could log out/log in, see the version etc.
6.10.0 there's no version and no log out. To find the version, from 'Me' you have to go into Help Center and to log out you have to click your user ID at the top of the page.

6.9.880 - Had 'Applications' in the toolbar. There you could find your Personal Album for photos.
6.10.0 - Applications has been removed - Personal Album has now moved into 'Me'

6.9.880 - In Playback AcuSearch and AcuSeek could both be accessed directly by touching the camera currently playing. That meant you could use both functions on local only devices without being logged into Hik-Connect.
6.10.0 - AcuSearch and AcuSeek have been moved to individual icons in playback alongside the Human, Vehicle, Event timeline filter. That means you can no longer use them on local only devices. So to use AcuSeek and AcuSearch on a local only device you'll have to use either the web browser or the local UI and not Hik-Connect

6.9.880 - Devices could be re-ordered using the three dot menu adjacent a site and clicking 'sort'
6.10.0 - Works as above except however you order them, your local devices will revert to the top position

6.9.880 - Push notifications came through instantly
6.10.0 - Push notifications (in my case) are being delayed by 15 seconds or more.

I just took a walk outside to test this... push notification came thought instantly... I think you may just be experiencing a temporary delay due to cell service... my guess is yours starts working instantly again soon.

I was wondering what the "[Improvement] Video Management: Adaptive Dual-View Display" is?

Hmm - the delayed notifications might be my dodgy new V Pro NVR then! I can't actually be sure when the delays started; I've had the alarms disarmed for a few days as I had a lot of work going on around the house. I'm getting the delays even when I'm on WiFi - I come home trip the line crossing, walk into the house, make a cup of tea with a few biscuits, use the loo and then I get the notification on my phone (mild exaggeration)
 
Problem could be the tea and biscuits.... I find coffee and doughnuts works better :)

Don't know how to stop that

That must only apply to those with intercoms connected - I did away with mine some time ago. Have you checked that Me > Settings > Display Feature Information is turned off?

That’s a strange one. Are there any new options for your intercom in the notifications settings?

I don’t have an intercom anymore but I’ll check on a family members tomorrow after updating the app to see whether they get the same message on app start.

@alfaclvi - I updated the family members app to the new version (they have a KV6113 intercom installed). I didn't get that message showing up on app start, everything is normal on theirs. They're on iOS; I wonder if it is something specific to Android?

I am on Android. Not at home now but unlinked from hikpro with no success. There are no new options in notifications and that's strange. Also cannot find any information about this "instant visitor calls".
I 'll remove KV6113 from account and check again. Or wait for newer hikstore version

Removed(deleted) KV6113 from account and message did not appear again. Added device again and message appears again every time the app is opened. This is like an advertisement.

I also have another issue on android 15.
By opening an event video clip, either from Notification tab or by selecting camera and then below events playback, then by rotating landscape, auto or manually, I lose all button controls. Touching image has no effect and must rotate portrait again to restore play pause back etc...

It's all working fine in iOS. I did have an issue with the previous version where once rotated in landscape, zoom wouldn't work; the magnification (1x, 2x) would appear on screen but the image would remain the same size. That's resolved in this version.
 
Does Smart Search work for you? Option is enabled in Intelligent Search NVR setting of the app, but drawing gives no results for me... (no video clip)

No not properly. If I select Smart Search and draw the grid, I get results marked as red markers on the timeline. However:
  • I have to manually drag the timeline to the markers (it doesn't skip unrelated video)
  • It struggles to play after scrubbing along that timeline
  • The grid remains on screen during playback
  • If I rotate the screen to landscape while playing back from smart search, the search is lost and the playback time jumps to 23:59
I'm not sure whether the search is Human only. I seem to only get Smart Search results for Human on most of my cameras. On some cameras out the back of the house it picked up foxes in the results, but I guess that's just the AcuSense interpreting the foxes as Human. G5 cameras are on 5.7.19 so I guess the situation is the same for dual VCA search as it has been since 5.7.15.

I've not tried it on an NXI-K yet, just the VPro. I'm seeing what you would expect - on older G3 cameras the Smart Search shows results for all movement but on newer G5's (with 5.7.19) and H13's it only marks the timeline if the movement is Human [or cat :-)]

Went back to v6.8.300
The only time Android beats iOS! - it's easy enough to downgrade apps. Us Apple users don't have that luxury and have to wait for the next version.
