Hello there, could you have a look in here please?
Hey JB, you helped me a few weeks ago with a number of queries and I’ve just spotted you’ve got both 2346 and 2386 cameras. I’ve got a set of 2346s abs wanted to get your views on the 2386s in comparison both during day and at night?

Great in daytime. Fairly similar in low light - the 2386 has the same specified minimum illumination as the 2346, so nothing spoiling in IQ when compared to the 2346. Think we're a way off being able to exploit the 8mp in night mode. I've had some issues with frame drop that Hikvision couldn't sort as have others - only affects daytime viewing.
Hi there hope you don't mind me contacting you. I wanted to ask your advice on ethernet cable, connectors and crimp tools but the message I wrote was too long how do I contact you?
Hello. I have The same problem witch Hikvision DS-KIS701 2-Wire. No two way audio on app hik connect. Do you resolve The problem ?
Hi, is really firmware G0 for the HWI-D140? I can not find any information. Thank you for replying
I saw your helpful awnser to a CCTV question so I'm taking the liberty of asking you a question because I don't want to just jump into someone elses post.I'm considering installing CCTV and would like to know if there are any "discreet" cameras on the market because where I live a public camera would look ostentaisous.
Hi Malford,

Just looking at an oldish post of yours, I see you had an ASUS RT-AC87U, that’s what I use. Did you find using DDNS on the actual router was better than using the Hik one?

Fairly new to the game and looking to setup remote connection and apps on my iPhone etc, either Hik-Connect or iVMS 4500.

What did you find best?

No worries - Thanks for the reply. I’ve gone with Hik-Connect currently, so not needed to setup DDNS. Do you find the iVMS or Hik-Connect app better?

I’ve had to turn on port forwarding this week as I’m away on holiday also and getting a few false alerts from intrusion detection so tweaking the sensitivity. Albeit not keen on leaving ports open!

iVMS is definitely faster using the ASUS DNS service.
I did have to change the port 8000 as I was getting Attempted illegal logins from multiple IPs every second

Believe it’s just port 80 I have opened. How do you know if your getting illegal logins? Does it kick out alerts on the NVR

Hi,

Are you able to confirm if the ColorVu light can be triggered to come on via a smart event, eg Intrusion Detection?

Thank you

Hi @Dan

Did you see the above message?

Thank you

Hi @Reecek

Apologies, I do not always get notified of messages left here so it is always best to just post your questions straight to the forum as someone else would have likely answered this before now.

ColorVu light operates the same way as the IR lights, so when it is dark enough the ColorVu lights will come on but there is no way to set these to be triggered by smart events. The lights can either be on full power, dimmed, or off completely. (if you already have streetlights/floodlights covering the scene)
Hi Phil,
The camera that i have is a DS-2CD4A26FWD-IZS/P and in its documentation it says that images can be captured at an interval of 500 milliseconds.
They say that we can configure the event-triggered snapshot and to capture the snapshot with the interval between them 500 ms. In the truth is 1000 ms.
Firmware version: V5.4.7 build 180611
Is there an option somewhere that I haven't set?

Hi, can you post this issue publicly on the Hikvision manufacturer forum please - HikVision - it will take some searching for us to find the answer as we don't have one of these cameras set up and it is likely another 4A26/P user on the forum will have the answer for you much faster.

Hello sir Dave, did you find a solution regarding the mainstream problem?
D
Dave Howard
Seems ok for me on pc with 4x camera showing mainstream on browser (latest ms browser Not Edge or IE)
I have recently installed a new HDD as I expanded from 2 to 3 cams. I have noticed when checking some playback (Seems to be when there is more movement) but the video either seems to jump a fair few seconds missing footage, or recently I just checked one piece of footage & it jumped back 3 - 4 seconds & continued to play. Im back on standard H264 & can see no reason for the playback to become jumpy every now and then
Hi can you help me with finding a desktop app to view IP cameras as a small window on the desktop without using the Hikvision software?
